What Capricious Is about…

Words From The Founder, Joseph Hayes Caddell: Capricious Music began as my personal vision to freely produce music without restrictions, grounded in a restless creative energy and a passion for soulful storytelling. Playing it safe by industry standards is considered a compromise in creativity. Music, to me, isn’t just background fodder—a term I use intentionally to highlight how deeply I feel about its role in my existence. Music is a companion for all people, and all seasons of life: for joy, heartbreak, curiosity, and those moments when words alone can’t express what’s inside.

Capricious Music Anchor

  • Championing Creativity: Each release is an adventure, crossing genres and mediums, while staying true to an honest, soulful style.

  • Crafting Captivating Visuals: Visual storytelling is held at high esteem, equal to music. With that in mind, Capricious Music has plans to develop a portfolio of compelling music videos and host live performances in unconventional spaces that promote a connection with nature and relics of times past, across the country, possibly across the world.

  • Giving Back: Dedicated to building a label that uplifts the community—through supporting entrepreneurial ventures that address pressing needs in the community.

Another Somber Day

"Another Somber Day" is my pride and joy. Improvised on a whim on a still night. Like always, trying to find peace for my soul. People are confused sometimes - a beautiful melody with a depressing title. Interpret how you will.

She'll Never Arrive.

"She'll Never Arrive". A song about losing your grip and hope of love ever arriving at the door of your heart. Completely improvised to soothe my heart one lonely night. I hope this is healing to you, in some way.

Monotonous Sorrow

"Monotonous Sorrow" melodic rhythm matches the name, I think. More of a feeling than what I can describe. Interpret it for you. I appreciate you all.

Plead For Peace

Capricious Music is still in its infancy, with bold ambitions that will take time to realize. As the great drummer Neil Peart said "In a world where I feel so small, I can't stop thinking big."

As an independent artist and founder, Joseph Hayes Caddell III is committed to growing the label alongside his own creative journey and with the support of listeners and the community.
